The Process

A custom-built home is a large investment, of both time and resources. It’s the place where you’ll spend time for many years to come and create memories with your family. You want your home to be absolutely perfect when it’s completed and you’d like the building process to be seamless and enjoyable. With more than two decades of experience in custom building homes in Osterville and the surrounding towns of Cape Cod, C.J. Riley Builder, Inc. is able to ensure just that; a worry-free building process which ends only when your home is exactly as you want it.

Some of our clients come to us with completed architectural plans in hand while others will engage our firm when they’re in the beginning stages of the design process. We’ve worked with many of the region’s talented architects and will build your home to the exact specifications of your plans or, if we’re involved from the beginning, work with your architect in making suggestions as the plans evolve.

As a general contractor, we’ll work with your architect and the town in securing the needed permits and addressing any zoning issues. As the building phase progresses, C.J. Riley and his team are onsite overseeing each step. From the site excavation and creation of the foundation, to erecting the framework and installing your home’s electrical and plumbing systems, we make certain that each phase is perfect before moving on to the next.

And then the fun begins.

Selecting items such as your paint colors, cabinetry, bath fixtures, flooring options, architectural trim and decorative hardware should, in fact, be fun. But the number of options can seem overwhelming. We’ll work with you in getting everything just right or, if you’d prefer, recommend area interior designers and kitchen and bath designers whom we’ve come to trust in our many years of experience. We can suggest talented landscape design and installation companies as well.

Once your home is completed and you’ve begun to enjoy living in it, we continue to be available to address any small adjustments needed. Many of our clients, especially seasonal residents, opt to continue working with us by engaging our property management services.
