Custom-Built Osterville Guest House

Open Floor Plan Living Area & Two Bedrooms

For this newly-constructed custom-built guest house, which sits on the grounds of an early 20th-century waterfront home on Cape Cod, we needed to design the exterior so that it complemented the existing home. The roofline includes a series of peaks similar to the main home and we incorporated elements – such as the white shingle siding, red cedar shingle roofing and window selections – which are also a reflection of the primary house.  The interior includes a fully-functional custom kitchen with a granite-topped center island, two bedrooms with a shared Juliette balcony and a staircase that we hand-built on site. We sited the primary living spaces throughout the guest house to make the most of its waterfront location. A set of sliders, flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows leads to a private patio which offers views of the water on three sides.
